Concentration Statement
The central idea of my concentration is to capture all light over an extended period of time through slow shutter speed as apposed to fast shutter speeds. These long exposures can give a very different look that some people desire in their photographs. In my photographs, the technique of long exposures is very apparent. Anywhere from silky water rolling down rocks in the northern mountains of Santa Cruz to the star trails formed by the rotation of the earth captured in my very own backyard. I believe that my intent to capture this abundance of light has been successful in my photographs. In all of them, one can see the effects of long exposures and it is quite simple to see the difference between letting light in over a long span of time and letting it in over a very quick instance.
